Support the growth of an environmental education and leadership program for high school students in the DC-Maryland region with the Smithsonian and the World Wildlife Fund.
The program manager will assist the co-directors of the Smithsonian's Earth Optimism Youth Action and Leadership (EOYAL) program, and its implementation with 4-5 high schools in the Washington DC- Maryland region. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest and background in environmental education and justice, and working with teen audiences. The program manager will assist project directors in executing EOYAL with multiple school partners and student teams, as well as informing the project with his/her/their own experience in environmental education, action, and leadership. The program manager will provide support and leadership in planning, developing, and implementing the EOYAL educational program - primarily in person and virtually as necessary - for students, teachers, and staff of collaborating partners.
EOYAL in the Chesapeake region is a partnership with the World Wildlife Fund. The program manager will need reliable transportation to visit each participating school on a regular basis, and participate in field trips, organizing guest speakers, etc.
The job is a full time contract position, with some additional compensation for travel expenses.
