Green Our Planet is the largest non-profit school gardening and conservation organization in the US.  Based in Las Vegas, NV, Green Our Planet builds outdoor school gardens and indoor hydroponics gardens.  Our hydroponics program is currently in implementation in 12 states and over 80 schools.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Hydroponics Senior Manager (HSM) position is a full-time position at Green Our Planet. The HSM will manage the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of Green Our Planet's Hydroponics STEM Program at schools in Nevada and in the United States. The HSM will work to help realize Green Our Planet’s vision of delivering the largest, most comprehensive, highest quality school hydroponics program in the United States.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The HSM will manage and support Green Our Planet’s Hydroponics Team.
  • The HSM will help develop innovative ways to improve the quality and implementation of the program within schools across the country.
  • Work closely with the metrics departments to develop data driven strategies as part of the process of improvement.
  • Oversee the shipping and delivery of all materials to schools.  
  • Help develop the expansion of the hydroponics portion of Green Our Planet’s online database that tracks all school information, implementation status, photos, grade levels, testimonials, etc.  
  • Identify schools that are struggling with implementation, and help the team overcome its challenges.
  • Support the development and implementation of Hydroponics program offerings and rapid growth initiatives.
  • Ongoing research and development of commercial Hydroponic units and potential improvements to the current systems being used.
  • Work with Green Our Planet's sponsors and partners to coordinate funding, assembly, and delivery of new hydroponics systems. 
  • Meet with the Green Our Planet’s leadership team on a weekly basis to report on the operation, challenges, and progress of the hydroponics program.  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 3-5 years of managerial experience preferred

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Resourceful and able to find creative solutions, thinking beyond current systems and approaches, while recognizing the impact of decisions and actions on the entire organization. 
  • Understanding of best practices and experience in building inclusive and engaged workplaces.
  • Ability to deal with conflict effectively and to manage difficult situations confidently and calmly.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and counsel both executive-level management and employees willingness to make decisions. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to partner effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to effectively plan, implement and manage complex programs and functions.
  • Desire to be part of a hardworking, collaborative, fun, and values-driven team. 

BENEFITS: 

Salary - $60,000 + 5,000 bonus
