Decades of research have shown us that just teaching about climate change and climate science is not enough. And that's why our friends at the Kennebunkport Climate Initiative (KCI) created the Learning Lab. KCI educators developed an approach that allows high school students to delve into complex environmental issues on a local level while still inviting all points of view to the table. Students participate in hands-on community-based education allowing them to contribute to scientific data, study local issues, interview community leaders, and make connections between the global crisis of climate change and their own backyard.
