Despite that assertion, few governments have taken meaningful action to increase climate change education in schools. 2021 could be a transformational year for climate change education, as countries like Italy have made it compulsory in the classroom, the G-20 Education Minister's Meeting takes place in June, and the UN climate conference (COP26) takes place this November.
